The Miracle Foundation (TMF) is dedicated to empowering orphans and orphanages to reach their full potential.In 2000, Caroline Boudreaux set off on a trip around the world and founded The Miracle Foundation in the process. On Mother's Day of that year, she was visiting an orphanage in a remote village in eastern India, when she was captivated by the beautiful smiles and incredible potential of the children, yet horrified by the conditions in which they lived. Having been brought face-to-face with the heart wrenching reality of their lives, Caroline committed herself to ensuring that all orphaned children have the opportunity to grow up with the love and care they deserve. Inspired by the 1989 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, she created The Miracle Foundation's Rights of the Child, focusing specifically on the rights of orphaned children. Today, these rights serve as the foundation for the standards and guidelines of care that The Miracle Foundation provides to the children they serve. In every orphanage they support, they help the management hire qualified staff and send their team members to develop the skills they need to be successful. TMF provides in-depth training for the management, staff, and housemothers at each orphanage. Under the guidance of the staff, the orphanages transform – changing their mindset from “warden and inmate” to “child and family” – and learn to provide a better depth of care for each child. TMF also teaches the orphanage leaders how to secure local funding. This enables them to lift orphaned children out of poverty, and the results motivate the orphanage staff and children alike.The Miracle Foundation's method is a scalable and measurable model, created from best practices. It ensures every child gets what he or she needs to be healthy and thrive. Clean water, nutritious food, clothes, essential healthcare, a good education, and love are all part of giving children the childhood they deserve. TMF works every day to make certain children have everything they need to grow into self-sustaining adults and help alleviate the negative effects of generational poverty.The Miracle Foundation is a secular organization and is governed by a Board of Directors. It is licensed in America as a 501(c)(3) and in India as a Section 25 Miracle Foundation India, based in New Delhi.
