Terms for donations:
Donations through CharityChoice are subject to a 3% credit card processing charge plus a modest 5% administrative fee, (towards maintenance of the charitable service, with the remainder to benefit special needs children).
You will receive an emailed tax receipt as a donation to our 501(c)(3) fund.
Allocations, sent quarterly to the selected charities, are made "anonymously”, in that user privacy is protected and the charities are not given information on the donor (unless optin permission is granted).
We, as a non-profit - Special Kids Fund, Inc./CharityChoice - report our charity's financial information to the State of New Jersey: including our 501c3 IRS Form 990 and an independent certified audit. Our yearly audit is done by WithumSmith+Brown, a highly respected regional firm that has been rated by Bowman's as one of the "Best of the Best" accounting firms nationally. Please note that unlike for-profit websites and charity portals, www.charitygiftcertificates.org is run by a charitable organization with a distinct cause and mission - providing for special needs children. So using our service is worthwhile all around!

Terms for auction:
NOTICE TO AUCTION BIDDERS:
Auction Promoters: Auctioneer is CharityChoice/Special Kids Fund on behalf of King Features.

Registration and security:
All registration information the Bidder provides to Auctioneer shall be current, complete, and accurate. Inability to reach the Bidder/ Successful Auction Bidder (SAB) or lack of response beyond a period of 24 hours shall render the Bid/SAB void. Bidders must be 18 years of age or older.
All bids must be in US Dollars. As a Bidder you are responsible for any bids placed under your bidding login and password.
The security of your Bidder information is your sole responsibility as you, the Bidder, will be responsible for any and all bids placed under your number. If at any time you feel that your Bidder number and password have been compromised due to lack of security on your part you must notify Auctioneer immediately.

Bidding:
As a Bidder, placing a bid is a binding contract and the bid cannot be retracted. Once you place a bid, and if you win, you will be obligated to buy the art work at the said price you indicated as your bid.
Auctioneer may, in its sole and absolute discretion, require pre-qualification of bidders and reserve the right to reject any and all bids.

Purchase (SAB):
Payment in USD only is to be by credit card or electronic transfer of funds or by Certified check delivered by overnight delivery within 48 hours of the close of the auction. If for any reason the highest bidder does not purchase the auctioned item, then the next highest bid shall become the SAB, proceeding in succession until the item is sold.
The CARTOONISTS CARE Artwork by DAN PIRARO (“the Artwork”) is for the sole use and enjoyment of the Successful Auction Bidder’s ("SAB") and securing the Artwork by a successful bid DOES NOT give SAB the right to reproduce the Artwork for any purpose.

The artist has valued this original work at $450. We anticipate that the auction will bring a considerably higher sum, since the funds will go towards Breast Cancer charities and is part of a wonderful campaign engaging our Cartoonists Care artists and their compassionate loyal readership. The amount of the winning bid in excess of the artist’s valuation may be tax-deductible. Please check with your own tax advisor concerning deductibility and how it affects your personal situation.

Funds to charities:
The SAB will have the privilege of designating which charities shall receive the funds from their auction purchase. The charities that they can select from are the 7 cancer organizations listed for donations on this website. CharityChoice/Special Kids Fund retains a 5% fundraising cost (and additional 3% fee deducted if payment is by credit card).

Clauses:
Bidder accepts responsibility for and agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Auction Promoters and their employees, governing body, officers, owners, affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, agents and representatives from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, judgments, fees, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses) as a result of any technical or human error related to this auction.

SAB agrees to hold DAN PIRARO and the Auction Promoter(s) harmless from any liability or claim of any kind in connection with SAB’s placement of a bid or SAB’s acceptance and/or enjoyment of the Artwork.

Auctioneer cannot, and will not, be held responsible for any interruption in service, errors, and/or
omissions, caused by any means and does not guarantee continual, uninterrupted or error free
service or use of the Site. Bidder acknowledges that this auction is conducted electronically and
relies on hardware and software that may malfunction without warning. The Auctioneer, in its
sole discretion, may void any sale, temporarily suspend bidding and re-sell due to any malfunction. The decision of the Auctioneer is final.
